The time we got caught in rain,
The droplets washed away our pain.
We felt even younger and carefree
With no stress and no worry.
We danced and sang and roamed
Knowing that a cold awaited us at home.
But it doesn't rain
Everyday at school
To have such fun
With our friends so cool.
Splashing and sploshing
Laughing at each other
Did we smile at a friend or a stranger?
We didn't bother.
What mattered was that we knew
This moment might not come again,
That we all may not be together
Until the next rain.
Who cares if we had a test next day
Tests can be planned but not a rainy day.
So we had the time of our lives,
Without any care
Smiling through the rain
With petrichor filling the air.
